“Children arrive at the pre-school eager and keen to learn. They confidently choose who they would like to play with and the activities they wish to participate in.” OFSTED 2015
St Barbara’s Pre-school takes place in St Barbara’s church hall.
The church is at the crossroads of Rochester Road and Beechwood Avenue and has ample car parking at the rear.
The pre-school is open every weekday during TERM TIME.
Monday – Friday: 9.15am – 12.15pm
Lunch club: 12.15pm – 1.00pm
Local Education Authority funding is available for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, which entitles them to free sessions.
The pre-school is registered to provide care for twenty four children in each session. It is Ofsted inspected and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) of the National curriculum. St Barbara’s Pre-school is a member of the PLA (Pre-school Learning Alliance).
The Pre-school is run as a Community Interest Company, which means that any profit will be reinvested into the Preschool. The Board or Directors are parents who volunteer their time to help manage the Pre-school. Day to day management and planning of sessions within the curriculum is the role of Sue Townsend, Pre-school leader.
